We’re delighted to announce that Cotter Agritech has been awarded a bronze prize at the inaugural Stelios Foundation North–South Business Cooperation Awards held at the historical Castle Leslie Estate, Co Monaghan. This recognition honours our innovation in sheep farming. In particular, our SmartWorm targeted selective treatment app, developed in partnership with Queen’s University Belfast (QUB).
This app supports smarter, more sustainable sheep production in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The judges noted our 2 year long cross-border collaboration in our R&D work with QUB and real world impact: SmartWorm enables targeted-selective treatment (TST) of lambs, cutting drug use in sheep farming significantly whilst maintaining animal production.
The awards is founded by Sir Stelios Haji‑Ioannou, the founder of Easyjet. The awards is run by the Stelios Foundation, which runs several remarkable 'giving back' initiatives across Ireland, the UK, Greece and Cyprus, supporting young entrepreneurs and providing food to those who need it. Its mission with this awards is to foster innovation and cooperation between North and South, recognising that business links can help build shared prosperity.
